CHANGE NOTICE FOR MANUAL

EFFECTIVE: Upon Receipt
The purpose of this change is to update policy in the Energy Manual to include current LIEAP Benefit Levels for Energy checks issued in February 2002. Therefore, EP-800, Figure 1, has been revised to give LIEAP Benefit Levels for 2002. Also use EP-800.02, Income Ranges, which gives the percentage of poverty for each household size and income, and Heating Regions, which lists the three heating regions in North Carolina, to determine proper benefit levels.
This policy is effective upon receipt.
Three copies of the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) payment schedule were mailed to the counties on January 8, 2002. All applications keyed into the Energy System through December 31, 2001, are included on this schedule.
