CHANGE NOTICE FOR MANUAL
DATE: March 4, 2002
MANUAL: Energy
TO: County Directors of Social Services
EFFECTIVE March 1, 2002, make the following changes to the Energy Manual.
I. BACKGROUND
Section 925, "Wake Electric Round-Up Program" (WERU), is being issued to provide policy for seven counties in North Carolina. The seven counties are Durham, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Nash, Vance, and Wake. This program will operate similar to the CP&L Project Share Program. Funds will be used to help clients in these seven counties who are Wake Electric customers to pay their heating or cooling bills. The WERU Program is funded by private donations. Funds will be distributed to the seven counties twice a year. Counties may start taking applications after receipt of funds.
CP&L Project Share counties that are also Wake Electric counties are required to report the number of households served on the same memorandum each month along with CP&L Project Share households. Other counties report monthly on a memorandum the total number of households served through the WERU.
