CHANGE NOTICE FOR MANUAL
MANUAL: Food Stamp Certification Manual
CHANGE NO.: 02-2002 Date: December 31, 2001
TO: County Directors of Social Services
EFFECTIVE January 1, 2002, make the following changes to the Food Stamp Certification Manual.
I. BACKGROUND
The purpose of this change notice is to provide clarification and revisions to policy in Section 225, United States Citizenship and Alien Status, and Section 320, Expedited Services, of the Food Stamp Certification Manual.
II. SPECIFIC CHANGES
A. Section 225, United States Citizenship and Alien Status
In Section 225, several section references have been corrected. In 225.14, B., the amount of earnings needed to earn creditable Quarters of Coverage has been added for the year 2002.
B. Section 320, Expedited Services
In Section 320, instructions have been clarified to state that once postponed verification is received, the second month's benefits must be released within five days or the first of the second month, whichever is later.
III. IMPLEMENTATION INSTRUCTIONS
These changes are effective with each application, change in situation, or recertification taken or processed after January 1, 2002.
