CHANGE NOTICE FOR MANUAL
MANUAL: Food Stamp Certification Manual
CHANGE NO.: 17-2002 DATE: September 18, 2002
TO: County Directors of Social Services
EFFECTIVE October1, 2002 make the following changes to the Food Stamp Certification Manual.
I. BACKGROUND
In accordance with new requirements established in Title IV of Public Law 107-171 of the Food Stamp Reauthorization Act of 2002, this change increases the resource limit for households that contain an individual who is disabled from $2,000 to $3,000, consistent with the limit for households with an elderly member. This change also removes the receipt of the Alexander v. Bruton penalty payments as a non-recurring lump-sum payment.
II. SPECIFIC CHANGES
Section 250.01, Resources
This change increases the resource limit for households that contain an individual who is disabled from $2,000 to $3,000, consistent with the limit for households with an elderly member.
Section 250.19, Non-recurring Lump-Sum Payment
This change removes from the list of non-recurring lump-sum payments the Alexander v. Bruton penalty payments.
III. IMPLEMENTATION INSTRUCTIONS
This change is effective October 1, 2002.
