II. PURPOSE

The purpose of this protocol is to establish guidelines for a multidisciplinary task force approach to the Investigative Assessments of child sexual abuse occurring in child care facilities. It is designed to ensure that Investigative Assessments of suspected child sexual abuse occurring in these facilities are done in an expedient manner and are complete and coordinated among the responsible agencies. Its intent is to facilitate a high degree of cooperation and coordination among all of the agencies involved in the Investigative Assessments, administration, and prosecution of these types of cases.
