The implementation of shared parenting meetings in child placement cases is one of the multiple Response System Strategies. Policy has been developed to support continued implementation of shared parenting as well as to help provide guidance.
The North Carolina Association of County Directors of Social Services Executive Committee has approved this new policy. Attached to this letter is the new policy within Chapter IV: Child Placement Services, Section 1201, XI. Shared Parenting.
Please ensure that staff responsible for the delivery of these services are provided copies of this policy or can access it via the DSS web site. The Division of Social Services on-line manual web address is: http://info.dhhs.state.nc.us/olm/manuals/dss.
