VI. DISPOSITION DATE

Disposition dates may remain the same, may be changed to the date the DSS-8124/DSS-8125 is keyed, or may be changed to the next workday depending on when the form is keyed and whether the notice indicator is blank or “Y”.

The Disposition Date can be the current or the previous month if it is keyed within the first five (5) workdays of the current month.

If you key a disposition date with a prior month date and the DSS-8125 is keyed after the fifth (5th) workday of the current month, EIS changes the disposition to the date the DSS-8125 is keyed if the notice indicator is “Y” or to the next workday after it is keyed if the notice indicator is blank. If you try to key a disposition date for a month before the prior month, an error message appears on-line.

Listed below is detailed information regarding disposition dates for Denials, Withdrawals, and Approvals.

A. DENIALS/WITHDRAWALS (MEDICAID and WORK FIRST)

1. When the DSS-8124 is keyed within the first five work days of the month, and;

a. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is the previous month:

(1) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y” (indicates automated notice is overridden).

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 05/28/02. The disposition date remains 05/28/02. This application will be included in the May Report Card.

(2) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/06/02. This application will be included in the June Report Card.

b. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is any month before the previous calendar month:

An error message appears as EIS will not allow.

The disposition date must be changed to a date in the previous or current calendar month.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 04/29/02. EIS will not allow this date. The earliest disposition date EIS will allow is 05/01/02.

c. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is the current calendar month:

(1) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 06/11/02. The disposition date remains 06/11/02.

(2) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Examples: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 06/11/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/12/02.

The DSS-8124 is keyed on Friday, 06/07/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 06/07/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/10/02.

2. When the DSS-8124 is keyed after the first five work days of the month, and:

a. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is the previous month:

(1) EIS changes the disposition date to the CALENDAR DATE keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 07/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 06/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 07/11/02.

(2) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 07/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 06/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 07/12/02.

b. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is any month before the previous calendar month:

An error message appears as EIS will not allow.

The disposition date must be changed to a date in the current calendar month.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 07/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 05/28/02. EIS will not allow this date. The earliest disposition date EIS will allow is 07/01/02.

c. The Disposition Date on the DSS-8124 is the current calendar month:

(1) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 07/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 07/05/02. The disposition date remains 07/05/02.

(2) EIS will change the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8124 is keyed on 07/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8124 is 07/05/02. The disposition date is changed to 07/12/02.

B. APPROVALS

1. Medicaid

a. When the DSS-8125 is keyed within the first five workdays of the month and:

(1) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is the previous month:

(a) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date remains 05/28/02.

(b) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/06/02.

(2) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is any month before the previous calendar month:

An error message appears as EIS will not allow.

The disposition date must be changed to a date in the previous or current calendar month.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 08/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/28/02. EIS will not allow this date. The earliest disposition date EIS will allow is 07/01/02.

(3) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is the current calendar month:

(a) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/12/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/11/02. The disposition date remains 06/11/02.

(b) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/12/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/11/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/13/02.

b. When the DSS-8125 is keyed after the first five workdays of the month, and:

(1) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is the previous month:

(a) EIS changes the disposition date keyed to the CALENDAR DATE on which the DSS-8125 is keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/11/02.

(b) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/12/02.

(2) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is any month before the previous calendar month:

(3) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is the current calendar month:

(a) EIS uses the disposition date keyed when the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/03/02. The disposition date remains 06/03/02.

(b) EIS changes the disposition date to the NEXT WORKDAY when the notice indicator is “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/03/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/12/02.

2. WORK FIRST

a. When the DSS-8125 is keyed within the first five workdays of the month, and:

(1) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is the previous month:

(a) The disposition date is the disposition date keyed when the DSS-8125 contains county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), and the notice indicator is either “Y” or Blank.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date remains 05/28/02.

(b) The disposition date is the disposition date keyed when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), the payment effective date and/or prior month 1 amount and date does not include the month of application (future payments), and the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date remains 05/28/02.

(c) The disposition date keyed is changed to the NEXT WORKDAY when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), EIS issues the first check (EIS considers the first check to be for the month of application), and the notice indicator is “Y” or “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/06/02.

(2) The Disposition Date on the DSS-8125 is any month before the previous calendar month:

An error message appears as EIS will not allow.

The disposition date must be changed to a date in the previous or current calendar month.

(a) The disposition date is the disposition date keyed when the DSS-8125 contains county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), and the notice indicator is either “Y” or “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/05/02. The disposition date remains 06/05/02.

(b) The disposition date is the disposition date keyed when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), the payment effective date and/or prior month 1 amount and date does not include the month of application (future payments), and the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/05/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/03/02. The disposition date remains 06/03/02.

(c) The disposition date keyed is changed to the NEXT WORKDAY when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), EIS issues the first check (EIS considers the first check to be for the month of application), and the notice indicator is “Y” or “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 06/5/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/12/02.

(b) The disposition date is the date the DSS-8125 is keyed when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), the payment effective and/or prior month 1 amount and date does not include the month of application (future payments), and the notice indicator is “Y”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/11/02.

(c) The disposition date keyed is changed to the NEXT WORKDAY when the DSS-8125 contains no county issue date(s) and county issue amount(s), EIS issues the first check (EIS considers the first check to be for the month of application), and the notice indicator is “Y” or “Blank”.

Example: The DSS-8125 is keyed on 06/11/02. The disposition date on the DSS-8125 is 05/28/02. The disposition date is changed to 06/12/02.
