Change No: 13-04
To: County Directors of Social Services
Effective: April 1, 2004
Effective April 1, 2004, the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) telephone verification system will be replaced by a web-based system. The new web-based system, SAVE Verification Information System, is used for verifying the status of an alien in order to determine eligibility for Medicaid, Work First, Special Assistance, Food Stamps, and Energy Programs.
As of Thursday, April 1, 2004, please stop using the SAVE Telephone Verification System and begin using the following Internet site: https://www.vis-dhs.com/webone/
Instructions regarding the web-based system are found in EIS 1108, SAVE Verification Information System.
Policy under Emergency Medicaid is changed to be consistent with MA-2303, Verification Requirements for Applications, regarding reopening denied applications.
This policy is effective April 1, 2004. Apply this policy to applications taken on or after April 1 and to redeterminations scheduled on or after April 1.
