Make the following change(s)
The Medicare Improvements Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA) mandated that, effective January 1, 2010, resource (asset) limits for the Medicare Savings Programs (MSP), known in North Carolina as the MQB programs, shall match the limits for the Medicare Low-Income Subsidy (LIS) program.
The resource limits for the MQB programs have been changed from $2,000 for an individual and $3,000 for a couple to $6,600 for an individual and $9,910 for a couple.
The policy is effective 01/01/2010. Apply the policy to applications and redeterminations processed on or after 01/01/2010 for months of January 2010 or later.
