The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of Public Affairs is in the business of dealing with the media. We keep up with the latest news on the media. There are a lot of good publications about the media. In this chapter you will find some articles that might be of interest. We update this section constantly. If you would like to receive the updates, please let us know.

There are some web sites that are devoted to the study of the media. If you want to learn more about the media, these web sites are a good start.

Online Journalism:

The Annenberg School of Communication at the University of Southern California produces this web site, which provides general information on online journalism including information on hackers and viruses.

General Media Information:

Poynter Institute - This web site is maintained by Florida nonprofit, which is devoted to the study of journalism. It contains information on ethics and other useful information, including Jim. Romenesko's Media News.

Jim Romenesko's Media News - This is part of the Poynter Institute's website, but it provides the most timely information on media issues. This is the site to go to for breaking information on media issues.

Society of Professional Journalists - This site is maintained by the SPJ, the nation's largest and most broad-based journalism organization. SPJ has been around since 1909, so this site has historical integrity.

RTNDA - This site is maintained by the Radio Television News Directors Association and Foundation. Site includes information on ethics.
